Ropes For beginners
28/04 | 16:00-23:00

In this intensive, we will learn all the basic techniques that begin the art of shibari. We will explore the dominance and submission roles of the partnership. How to hold the rope and the partner tightly in your hands.

If we are talking about self-bonding , we will study our body and give it new sensations. Let’s get acquainted with the care and pleasant pain through the rope)

After this intensive, you will be able to interact confidently in shibari!

Safety Theory:
Anatomical features where you can’t tie, on what you need to pay attention to the body of a partner, examine possible injuries how to prevent and how to help if the injury (first aid)

Technique:
Single & double column tie – basics of binding of the hands and feet, techniques from where it all begins, which is a continuation shibari;

Tension lvl & control of the rope – different levels of rope tension and control in your hands;

Correct movement of the ropes “Swing of the katana” – motion control of the rope, its interception, direction, practice movement “swing of the katana”, the right and beautiful movements of the hands;
ryou ashi gattai ichimonji shibari – several variations of tying the legs together;

agura or zazen shibari – tying the legs in the Turkish position, the practice of stretching, proper movement of the hands and the feeling of the body in it (also suitable for #selfbondage)

ippon nawa & newaza – the technique of “dating” binding with one rope, moving the partner to different positions, learning to improvise and create different forms and structures of binding on the floor;

tekate kote / gote shibari – traditional basic binding of the hands from behind the back, useful for work on the floor.
ebi shibari – combination of agura & tekate kote (TK) techniques, tie body position legs to chest;

kazari nawa – using the “macrame” technique in shibari, knots, patterns, learn how to finish the rest of the rope beautifully and efficiently;

koutou ushiro te shibari – tying the hands behind the head, the traditional “slave / captive” hand position”;

Psychology:
Preparing both partners (rigger and model) for a dialogue, discussing taboos, all the Pros and Cons, discussing each other’s boundaries;

working with trust, how not to lose it and vice versa to strengthen it;
how not to harm or cause psychological trauma;
if a trigger injury has opened in a partner during session, how to react;
how to properly start and end a shibari session (consider different options);
working with intent/desire (yours and your partner’s);

Philosophy:
Learning associative-imaginative thinking in shibari, we will create a beautiful description of each of your actions (process and result);

Soul Shibari style – author’s technique
4 elements of binding “air”,” earth”, “water”, “fire”, as the basis of sensory binding, which gives the answers” why” and ” for what” we tie. It is about spiritual and tantric ways of connections through the ropes.
We will study this topic briefly in one lesson, but if you are interested in deepening your knowledge, we will supplement the basic course with 2 more lessons with this topic.

Ropes For Intermediates
29/04 | 12:00-19:00

In this training, we will study more complex bindings, get acquainted with the capabilities of the body and the control of sensations; emphasis on semi-suspensions, managing the changed state.

Safety theory:
anatomical features where you can not connect, what you need to pay attention to in the partner’s body, we will study possible injuries, how to prevent and how to help if an injury has occurred( first aid); aspects of moving the partner (yourself) in the semi-suspension, weight distribution;

Technic:
* kami shibari – hair binding, several strong options; options with short hair;
* maete TK ( tekate kote) – traditional front arm binding in the form of tekate kote;
* futomomo – binding one bent leg, we will study several options and methods of using this technique;
* zuri nawa – hanging rope, learn its attachment (several types); how to attach to the suspension point and close the rope correctly “ “lower” and “upper” closure; how to attach a hanging ring/carabiner or bamboo and their difference;
* yoko semi zuri – classic horizontal side half-suspension, a couple of options for changing positions in it;
* aomuke semi zuri – front horizontal semi-suspension face up, a couple of options for changing positions; using the futomomo technique;
* maete hiji zuri – vertical semi-suspension with arms in front;
* zuri – full horizontal suspension using agura shibari or hip harness techniques and any chest harness;

Psychology:

Ropes For Advanced
26/04 | 15:00-22:00

This course is for those who want to strive and develop further. Improve your skills of mastery and easily work with complex technical and emotional patterns of interaction with your partner.
Designed to work in pairs.

The course program focuses on aesthetics, quality, and sensual act.

Security theory:
anatomical features in complex positions and suspensions, when moving; how to be safer for your partner and for yourself during complex execution techniques; talk about injuries and how to prevent them or what to do if it happened.

Technic:
kaikyaku kani shibari by Ren Yagami – aesthetic, sexy and strong technique of binding the legs to the hands (left hand to the left leg, right to the right) in an open position, authored by the Japanese master Ren Yagami; anatomical feature of fixing the open legs; learn the suspension with this technique + a new hip harness;
torro shibari – binding the hands from the front to the chest in the form of a “chinese cat of good luck”; a suspension with this technique;
tengu shibari – binding the hands clenched at the sides with the wrist to the shoulders; according to Japanese mythology – the symbol of the “demon”; a test of suspension with this technique;
Strappado – few types and trying with suspension
Hip harness by Red Lily – comfortable and beautiful harness for any types of body and useful for suspension.

All techniques we will use for suspension.

Psychology:
Consider the effects of pain and the desire to cause it, why it can be liked, why not. What the body says and what the brain says during binding and how to react to it. Where are the limits of what is allowed and how to understand them. What style of linking is suitable for certain partner requests and why.

Tatiana is international Shibari artist born in Ukraine. In the past years she has been travelling around the globe teaching her unique approach to shibari with her brand Soul Shibari. She is both a teacher and a Shibari Artist performing the Shibari Theater
